The Essence Collection is manufactured with a state-of-the-art Xcora technology — the very best in product engineering utilizing the "hot press" (vs. cold press) system for high hardness ratings, moisture control and stability. As a result, the Essence series is 160% harder than red oak hardwood flooring, making it an ideal option for high-traffic areas in both residential and commercial environments. Teragren Essence bamboo flooring can be glued or nailed on, above or below grade.

The Xcora technology also employs a 16-coat Glaze Tek German finish which provides a layer of abrasion-resistant aluminum oxide, plus 12 scratch-resistant, polyurethane topcoats that protect the bamboo fiber's natural strength and beauty. This finish is water-based and solvent-free, and its adhesives emit substantially less formaldehyde than is present in ambient air.

Essence is FloorScore-certified, which is one of the most rigorous air quality standards in the world. FloorScore ensures the quality of indoor air for schools and offices and meets stringent standards for 78 volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
