ECOS Paint company has a great story which is similar to many of our other vendors like AFM and Bioshield. ECOS started about 35 years ago in the UK, long before VOCs and hazardous air pollutants were even talked about. Their mission, just like the others, was to create a product that would do no harm to anyone or to the environment; a cleaner, purer product that was made safer. Not by simply removing a few bad ingredients and substituting with some others not classified as VOCs, but by designing it from the ground up with only materials known to be safe.
ECOS paints were the first paint company in the US to complete ingredient transparency. They received a DECLARE label which included a Red List Free certification verifying there were no hazardous chemicals or even suspected carcinogens. This list has more than 3000 chemicals on it; far more than the few hundred on the EPA list of hazardous chemicals. Made by and for those with chemical sensitivities, ECOS has become the MCS-preferred paint.
But then they went further and wanted to engineer a product that would perform better than traditional paints; one that would have much better coverage and hold up in all climates hot and cold, wet and dry, that would be durable enough for flooring or even lane markings in parking garages.
They also knew that color was critical to everyone, so they developed a whole new pigmenting system that provides more vibrant colors without the harsh chemicals or solvents found in traditional tints. This new system allowed them to match the paint colors of any major brand of paint extremely well. So if you have a favorite color, they will match it at no extra charge.
Today, ECOS paints, primers, spackle, and sealers are made in South Carolina and sold throughout the world. Companies like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft use their products as do iconic institutions like the Louvre, Westminster Abbey, and the Getty Museum.
Our experience with ECOS paints has been stellar. Our customers prefer ECOS paints and primers because of their purity, ultra low odor, spread rate, and beautiful colors. With ECOS paints, you don’t need to worry about leaving your freshly painted home for days so that the room can air out.
