When you install your Marmoleum floor or countertop or have someone do it, it is crucial that the right Marmoleum adhesive and underlayment is used.
Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal
Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc Seal floating floors (panels 12x36 /squares 12x12) are DIY and no glue or adhesive is needed. Instead, they are floated over most clean, dry, structurally sound subfloors. Moisture testing and ambient room temperatures must be followed according to the manufacturer's instructions.
When installing over a concrete subfloor or any subfloor with underfloor heating, a vapor barrier must be used. We offer a non-toxic vapor barrier called Moisture Block Pro. This 6 ml polyethylene comes in 175 SF rolls and includes a tear off strip that allows you to connect each roll without additional tape. It emits no VOCs and has no odor, unlike most polyethylene sheeting.
Marmoleum Click Cinch Loc is 3/8" thick and comes with a built in cork underlayment. However, an additional foam or other 1/8" thick underlayment may be used. This is optional. Why would you need an additional underlayment? Underlayment can be beneficial if you want more thermal insulation on a basement floor or acoustical insulation on a second floor.
Some underlayments come with a built-in vapor barrier, such as Quiet Walk Plus. This can be used in place of the Moisture Block if additional sound deadening / warmth is needed. Please refer to the manufacturer's substrate evaluation & preparation guidelines.

NOTE: This is not a DIY type project. Most experienced flooring installers who have laid vinyl sheet or tile flooring are capable of installing Marmoleum sheet or tile. There are only a few differences that are easily learned. We suggest that your installer watch the videos on our website and call us before they begin if they need assistance.
