Non-toxic, zero VOC, solvent-free, extreme moisture limiting sheet and tile adhesive
Forbo Sustain 1195 Sheet and Tile Adhesive is a water-based mastic for all Marmoleum sheet and tile flooring that is specially formulated for extreme moisture conditions . This dual acrylic polymer formulation is an adhesive and moisture limiter all in one. It can handle moisture emissions of 10 lbs per 1000 square feet and up to 95% relative humidity. FYI, the normal adhesive, Sustain 885 adhesive, handles up to 8 lbs/1000 SF at 85% relative humidity.
This adhesive naturally resists moisture and mildew and, with better initial grab and longer open time. It requires a 1/16" x 1/16" x 1/16" square notched trowel and it covers 125 square feet per gallon.
Unlike solvent-based adhesives, Forbo Sustain 1195 has zero VOC emissions and exceeds CARB2 standards as well as most other European Standards. Once dried it has virtually no odor and will not off-gas.
NOTE: This alternative adhesive must be rolled with a 100 pound roller as per Forbo instructions.
If you have a damp basement, this is for you. This is a replacement for the old Forbo Moisture Limitor. It's an adhesive but also controls moisture even better than the Moisture LImitor. This is an excellent insurance policy against potentially damp floors caused by leaky basement floors or walls or hydrostatic pressure.
