EcoStar Glacier GuardTM 100 underlayment is a 55-mil self-adhering sheet membrane. It protects roof substrates against water penetration from wind-driven rain and from water backup caused by ice dams. This membrane is required in new construction and re-roofing projects beneath all EcoStar® roofing systems and most steep-sloped roofing products. The membrane will self-adhere to clean wood, plywood and metal.
Glacier Guard 100 is a flexible, rubberized asphalt, fiberglass-reinforced membrane with a granular surface that provides maximum skid-resistance during installation. A scored siliconized plastic release liner prevents the material from sticking together in the roll and is easily stripped away for installation.
NOTE: This product is required for all installations along the outside perimeter, valleys, skylights and anywhere there is an opening.
This required product works like it should to protect your roof from ice, water and wind. It's durable and easy to apply with no special tools. This product works for 14 days without protection from the sun. After that time, it must be covered.
