Kahrs Satin-Oil

Kahrs Satin-Oil is a paraffin-based oil finish that is required immediately after installation and prior to use of any Kahrs oiled floor. Not for use on Kahrs silk matte finish or other topical acrylic finishes.

NOTE: This product has 771 g/l of VOCs and has some initial odor. However, it flashes off very quickly, faster than most. Kahrs recommends this product. We also offer a zero VOC product called Rubio Monocoat Maintenance Oil that can also be used, but Kahrs will not comment on that product.

Apply a thin layer of Kahrs Satin Oil on the surface and spread it evenly with a Kahrs Micro Fiber Mop or a dry cloth along the grain of the board. After 10-15 minutes, polish again with a new Micro Fiber Mop head so that no residue is left behind. A 1-liter can covers approximately 1000-2000 SF. No mixing is required.

NOTE: Shelf life 1- 2 years but may be much less once the container is opened. Please keep in the original container with lid tightly secured and in a temperature controlled space, 45-85°F. Oil will harden in the bottle when stored after opening, often in less than 1 year. Bottom line is once you open it, try to use it up within the first 6-12 months.

This product is available as an oil with no pigment for use immediately after installation, or as a refresher after there is slight wear on the surface.

After 1-2 years there may be more wear and you may need to reapply with the clear oil; if your floor is white, grey or brown, you will need to use the appropriate pigmented oils that are also available to revive your floor to its original color.
